Center Harbor Fire Department (CHFD) proudly provides Fire & Emergency Medical Services (EMS) services to the residents and visitors of Center Harbor, as well as supporting neighboring departments through the Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid Association.
CHFD is an “on-call” department that has per-diem day shift coverage as well as night stipends to provide nighttime coverage when personnel are available.
CHFD staffs Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Advanced EMTs, and Paramedics in order to provide the highest level of pre-hospital care in conjunction with Stewart’s Ambulance Service, the contracted transport agency for the town of Center Harbor.
CHFD personnel are trained in FF1 and FF2 to provide fire suppression capabilities to the town and its neighboring communities. Additionally, some members have received certifications and training in various Technical Rescue disciplines, including Ice Rescue, High/Low Angle Rope Rescue, Swift Water, and Flat Water.
Finally, CHFD is moving towards requiring all apparatus drivers to obtain their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-B). This licensure will help ensure that all Driver/Operators are licensed at the appropriate level for the trucks that are in operation on behalf of CHFD.
