Chief’s Message

I would like to welcome you to the Town of Center Harbor, New Hampshire. We are located near the geographical center of the state and are part of the picturesque Lakes Region area. Center Harbor borders four major lakes: Squam, Waukewan, Winona, and Winnipesaukee as well as five towns and two counties. We have two large conservation areas both offering miles of walking trails for your enjoyment.

Center Harbor is a tourist destination that experiences a population explosion in the summer and on weekends year-round. We are also the winter home of the M.S. Mount Washington.

I am honored to lead the Center Harbor Police Department. We are a well-trained group of law enforcement professionals that work as a team and enjoy serving our residents and guests. The Police Department consists of four full-time officers, including the Chief of Police, Sergeant, and two Patrol Officers. Additionally, we have two part-time employees, an Administrative Assistant and a Prosecutor.

Our dispatch services are provided by the Belknap County Sheriff’s Office located in Laconia, who dispatch for 10 communities.

I hope your time in Center Harbor is safe and enjoyable whether you are here as a vacationer, motorcycle enthusiast, enjoying one of our many summer concerts, participating in our annual events including a first-class 4th of July celebration, or fishing on the many lakes and ponds. Our dedicated staff looks forward to assisting you and preserving the quality of life that makes our town special.

Chief Mark C. Chase, Center Harbor Police Department
